Review: Team Fortress 2

This is a guest post by TheNewagecaveman. If there’s something you’d like to share about gaming email me darren@zomghow.com I’d love to hear about your idea!

I am not a man who would normally play a shooter game. I am not a man who would play Modern Warfare or Gears of War like most college frat boys that would say they are gamers because they play those games (they are not), and I am not a man who would buy an Xbox just to play Call of Duty or any other dime-a-dozen shooters that happen to be in the market now a days.

That was, until my friend Daniel told me about a rather popular game in the market: Team Fortress 2. I didn’t care as much, until he told me that the game was free to play now. Yeah, a game like that would definitely work on my Mac.

Tips for being an Awesome Medic Battlefield Bad Company 2

Reviving a teammate as a medic isnt always seen upon as being a right thing to do. Many medics seem to go after the points rather than actually wanting to help their teammates. Reviving a teammate instead of taking out the enemy. The end result is you’ve died twice thanks to the incompetence of the medic. If used correctly though, the medic can make your team extremely formidable.

When you see a fallen teammate don’t run up and revive him without using a strategy.  If you want to take the risk of sprinting to your teammates body with the defibrillator in your hand or scan the surrounding area for enemies which takes time. By this time they may already be dead.

How to be a Team-player in Battlefield Bad Company 2 (as Engineer)

The engineer in Battlefield Bad Company 2 can be one of the most versatile classes online. Whether you’re using vehicles or your machine gun, you can easily help your team mates. I’ve included a few top tips for being a good team player online in BF BC2

When you’re an engineer and there are no vehicles needing repair, take advantage of your silenced weapon, and AT Mines if equipped.Remember, if you fire a suppressed gun you will not show on the enemies GPS. This can be handy when surrounded by close by enemies, for example when you’re behind enemy lines

When driving a tank put on the spec that deploys a 360 degree of smoke to help your team-mates repair the tank. If you see an enemy that has run up to your tank kill him/her as fast as possible, as the player may be attempting to plant C4 on your tank.

5 interesting ways to have fun in GTA IV free mode.

There is nothing better than chilling in a GTA IV  free mode  with your friends. But after a while the size of the map and blandness of the areas do start to bore players and they may be drawn to play a newer, fresher online multiplayer game. Well have no fear folks as that will not happen to you. I am about to share with you the top 5 things that i have found most fun to do online with friends. For me, these activities have lengthened my time spent playing this game and has made it to be my all time favourite game for playing online with friends.

1. Headbutting  cars.

Set the traffic to high for this free mode session. Enter the game and go to the airport or the liberty city heli tours place to get a chopper. Fly to a busy highway and bail out. The aim of this activity is to land on a car. It helps if you have The Ballad of Gay Tony expansion pack as there is new diving physics, but if you do not then the original GTA IV will suffice.

2. Chopper + Bike = Weeeeeeeeeeee!

This is another chopper related one so get a chopper at the airport and fly it over to one of the ramps there. Get your friend to get a bike, it doesn’t really matter what kind, and well……ramp up on to the blade of the chopper as it is moving and watch that baby glide through the air.

3. Destruction Derby.

Travel to  Meadows Park on your map and you will find a ring perfect for a destruction derby. There is no limit on how many players, the more the merrier. But there is a limit on car size as the doors into the ring are very narrow. The rules are simple,no guns are allowed, just the shear strength of your car and skill will determine a win.

4. The High Dive.

Yet again get yourself a chopper and fly to middle park. Try and dive into the lake below from a massive height or when the chopper is moving at speed. For a bigger challenge fly to Westdyke in Alderney and try it on the 3 or 4 swimming pools there.

5. Hobo Fighting (my personal favourite).

travel to Firefly Island on the map. There are usually hobos standing in little groups there on the beach and under the pier. So go ahead and tear into them and see if you can survive the intensity of a hobo attack. Now remember kids, hobos hunt in packs so try not let them surround you because they will give you a kicking.

The yellow  rings in the pictures are just some suggestions of places to carry out these activities.
