Mobile Gaming: The future?
With the popularity of consoles being as high as it is today, it’s hard to see a future without them. I’ve yet to visit a house that doesn’t own at least one console, and most own more than one. As true as this experience is, it’s even harder to find a person without a mobile phone these days. It can even be hard to even find someone without a mobile in the hand! With such a massive market, smart phones such as the iPhone and the army of different Android phones are doing extremely well. With game developers such as ROVIO making popular games like Angry Birds on both these platforms, other developers will start to follow that act. EA is already starting work on improving their standing with Android. They’ve recently bought Chillingo, the publisher of many high-profile mobile games, including Angry Birds. They’re aiming to have 25% of the Android gaming market by 2014, and 11% of the iPhone market.
